Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

The South Ledges, Appledore by Childe Hassam. This classic artwork from the public domain was created in 1913 by Boston born American Impressionist painter (Frederick) Childe Hassam, known for his work depicting urban and coastal scenes. This particular image features a glorious day on Appledore Island, just off the coast of Maine. This reproduction image of the original oil on canvas painting currently on display at The Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington DC, has been remastered.
I'm a travel photographer and photo artist. I like to explore every nook and cranny of anywhere I visit and I'm always looking out for something unusual or unique, weird and wonderful, interesting and intriguing. For me, half the challenge is in the initial taking of the photo, the looking for something that catches my attention, getting that perfect composition, but the other half is in the processing, the tweaking and twisting and the addition of a little imagination to see how much detail I can bring to the surface and hopefully let the viewer see the same as I did when I took the shot. My images have been shot here, there and everywhere, mainly in the historic cities of Europe and with the occasional one taken in my own surroundings...
